Although the COVID-19 outbreak and related guidance and regulations are creating unprecedented challenges for businesses around the country, and world for that matter, online sales generated through the MoreCommerce platform have remained strong through the month of March, and we are cautiously optimistic this trend will continue.
Even so, related issues such as sudden warehouse closures, supply chain interruptions and shipping delays have adversely impacted us (and the shoppers we serve), and we would like to reassure you that we are here to work with you through any such issues.
As mentioned in our post a couple weeks ago, the MoreCommerce team is currently working from home at full capacity and is as committed as ever to providing the best possible service during these uncertain times.
Please take a moment and review the following questions to ensure your account is configured appropriately for any challenges currently facing your business -
Are you currently able to process and fulfill orders?
If your warehouse has been closed, or you are otherwise unable to fulfill orders, you must place your account on vacation if you cannot be certain when you will be operational again.
It is not permissible to leave your account open to accumulate orders if you may not be able to fulfill them for an extended period of time, especially given how we distribute products across various 3rd party distribution channels with different fulfillment requirements and penalties.
Are you able to fulfill orders but anticipate reasonable delays?
If you are operating at limited capacity, or anticipate fulfillment delays for other related reasons, be sure to contact our Merchant Help team right away and provide us with as much detail as possible about your current situation.
Depending on the delays you anticipate, we may be able to assist you in a variety of ways, such as providing exceptions to late fulfillment penalties, adjusting which channels your products are listed on to prevent major issues or helping you update your catalog to remove specific products you may be unable to ship promptly.
Are your MoreCommerce inventory levels accurate?
In recent weeks, we have seen a number of products take off and start selling dozens, or even hundreds, of units per day, and it is more important than ever to make sure the inventory counts listed in your MoreCommerce account are current and that you can quickly fulfill all orders for any products currently listed as in stock.
You can download your inventory and/or full product files and make changes in bulk if needed using the options available on the Bulk Edit page within your account.
Are you considering selling masks, hand sanitizer, toilet paper or other essentials which are prone to shortages due to the current pandemic?
Our Trust & Safety team has implemented new, strict measures governing the sale of such products to, among other things, protect customers against misleading advertising and/or price gouging. Most likely, any attempts to publish such items on the MoreCommerce platform will be rejected.
If you are interested in selling such items, please contact our Merchant Help team directly and we will evaluate your request further.
Thanks for your continued partnership and - most importantly - stay safe!
