Dot & Bo is a marketplace powered by MoreCommerce that showcases the best limited-time deals on furniture and home décor items listed on the MoreCommerce marketplace. Shoppers also occasionally receive emails directing them to this site to browse our featured products and other deals they may be interested in!
Think of Dot & Bo as simply another channel where your products appear so you can sell more.
Q: Where are my products listed?
A: When products are listed they can be distributed to multiple locations from those that we own (opensky.com, dotandbo.com,11main.com) and on our partner marketplaces. For our owned sites, they are distributed based on the product categories. For our partner channels a number of factors comes into play. They have to meet the partners requirements, and also be in a category that is allowed on the partners side. If you need details on your specific items and where they are listed, please contact support.
Q: If I load a product to MoreCommerce, should I assume it automatically loads to Dot & Bo?
A: After being uploaded, your products all become eligible for Dot & Bo, but will not necessarily be featured on the site. There’s a good chance your products will be included if, for instance, they’re all Home Décor-related, but it’s possible we'll filter out some products if our merchandising team feels they do not match the Dot & Bo brand.
Q: If my products are listed on an additional site, what do I have to do?
A: Absolutely nothing! There’s no additional fees, work, or information needed from you—we’ll do all the heavy lifting. Basically, we just want to make sure your products are seen by as many interested shoppers as possible.
Q: How is my inventory divided across marketplaces?
A: Your inventory is permanently “synced” across all marketplaces, as all of the sites are reading from the same data.
Q: Are the rules for shipping Dot & Bo orders the same as for MoreCommerce?
A: Yes, they follow the same Merchant Quality of Service Agreement as MoreCommerce.com.
Q: Are returns dealt with in the same way as on MoreCommerce?
A: For now, yes: Return procedures are the exact same for Dot & Bo and MoreCommerce.
However, we’re aware that some furniture sellers may have additional needs to make accepting returns feasible (for instance, the ability to charge a restocking fee). We’re looking into improving things on this front as soon as we can, and of course if you have any ideas please let us know.
Q: How does Dot & Bo’s audience differ from MoreCommerce’s?
A: Between the site's focus on home décor and its shoppers’ interests in luxury, upscale items, being listed on Dot & Bo instantly exposes your products to a new audience that has proven itself more likely to seek out and buy products at higher price points.
On top of that, Dot & Bo is a uniquely-beloved brand, and its more than 1 million Facebook fans are thrilled the site has returned and are eager to shop (just check for yourself!). Dot & Bo shoppers bring that enthusiasm with them every time they shop, and that should mean only good things for merchants.
Q: If I need to make an image edit or change a product description on my bulk feed, will that reflect across all channels?
A: Yes. As with inventory, all sites are reading from the same product data, so the changes will appear on all sites automatically. This includes all product data edits: images, names, price, description, etc.—all will update instantly wherever the product appears.
We're also beginning to invest in some "site specific" features (for example, it might make sense to require product dimensions for Dot & Bo listings, but not OpenSky listings), but we have not yet integrated any such feature. We’ll let you know if and when we do.
Q: How do I access the sales data for products sold on Dot & Bo and/or 55mulberry?
A: Sales on those platforms will appear in your “Orders” screen as normal sales, and can be fulfilled alongside normal orders. (Or, if you're using Shipstation or ShipWorks, they'll flow into those systems directly.)
Sales on all 3 platforms also have the same fees and payment terms.
Q: Are there any other places my products are appearing?
A: If your products are listed on any of the above marketplaces, they're also eligible for inclusion in the marketing programs that we use to bring shoppers into the sites, such as Google Shopping and Facebook ads.
Q: What about the Storenvy Marketplace?
A: OpenSky products are not yet eligible for inclusion on the Storenvy marketplace, in part because the financial terms are distinct for Storenvy. We're still evaluating whether or not to integrate or if doing so will increase merchants’ sales—but we’ll of course notify you if we do!
