In the past, you could run your own storewide promotions and certain discounts of ours, like Credits, could stack with the promotions you created. MoreCommerce's new, simplified approach to promos allows you to sell your products at the price you want more easily and ensures you won't accidentally over-discount your products.
With Simplified Promos:
- You only have to set one discount amount so your products are eligible for inclusion in our promotions.
- Discounts and Credits do not “stack.” Shoppers can only use one or the other when they buy.
Please note- Only MoreCommerce is able to create promotions, sales and coupons for this site.
Simplified Merchant Toolkit
You’ll notice a streamlined Merchant Toolkit without these pages and sections:
- The "Product & Storewide Promo" page of the “Marketing” section
- Buttons for posting promotions from your Dashboard and "Product" pages
- The "Customers" section
Your "Marketing Settings" page also only displays a single option for selecting the Maximum Allowed Discount for all of your products.
The Maximum Allowed Discount setting replaces the Credit Event and Sitewide Coupon options. MoreCommerce automatically sets an initial max discount for you according to the rules described below.
Your Initial Maximum Allowed Discount Setting
We automatically set a Maximum Allowed Discount for your products for inclusion in our promos based on your current Credit Event and Sitewide Coupon Code ceilings.
We set your Maximum Allowed Discount to the lower of the two values if they differed, unless one of those values was set to 0% and the other was something greater. In that case, we used the higher percentage.
Setting Your Own Maximum Allowed Discount
You can change your Maximum Allowed Discount at any time.
Setting a higher Maximum Allowed Discount means your products are eligible for more of our promos. For example, if your Maximum Allowed Discount is 20%, your products are eligible for inclusion in:
- Sale on Sale Credit Events
- Sitewide Sale Credit Events
- Any Coupon Codes for 20% or lower
If your Maximum Allowed Discount is set to 50%, your products can be included in more events, including:
- Sale on Sale Credit Events
- Sitewide Sale Credit Events
- Any Coupon Codes for 50% or lower
- Discount Dollar promos
- General Credit Events
- Half Off Events
Your products will sell at full price during non-promotion days.
If you know your margins, set your max discount so you give shoppers the best deal. Keep in mind that this may be greater than your Credit or Sitewide Coupon Code ceilings (since shoppers can’t combine Credits and Discounts anymore).
If you don't know your margins, we recommend setting your Maximum Allowed Discount to your current Sitewide Coupon Code ceiling.
Existing Promos Have Expired
If you had storewide or product-specific promos running these have expired. Shoppers' individual Credits, e.g. for inviting friends to the site, have also expired.
